Rebecca Poling, D.D.S., M.S.D.

Dr. Rebecca Poling graduated in 1972 from dental hygiene at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and attended Johns Hopkins University with course work toward her MPH. She taught dental students management of expanded function auxiliaries for two years at the dental school at the University of Maryland.
In 1974 she moved to Alaska and developed and directed the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Then and now, this program continues to be one of the top dental hygiene programs in the US as indicated by top scores on the Dental Hygiene National Boards.
In 1977 she started dental school at the University of Washington in Seattle. In 1981 she received her dental degree and in 1984, her orthodontic degree, both from the University of Washington. She was President of her dental school Senior Class and involved in the Dental School's Curriculum Committee as a student representative.
In 1984 she returned to Anchorage and established her orthodontic practice. Dr. Poling developed a student oral hygiene program that was delivered in the 54 elementary schools in Anchorage from 1986 through 1989. She was also a Commissioner on the Anchorage Health and Human Services Commission from 1989 until 1991.
In 1995 Dr. Poling achieved Board Certification from the American Board of Orthodontics. She is past president of the Alaska State Society of Orthodontists and past Director from Alaska on the Board of Directors of the PCSO. From 1999 until 2002 she was the PCSO representative on the Council of Orthodontic Practice and involved in the Transition Seminar and the Orthodontist as CEO program. She is currently an Affiliate member of the Northwest Angle Society.
Dr. Poling has published in the Journal of Dental Education and in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. She has also been a contributing author to the text Surgical Orthodontic Treatment by Drs. Proffit and White. She lectures frequently to orthodontic residents on "Finishing" and lectures on staff training at regional and national meetings.
In 1998 Dr. Poling started the International Training Institute (ITI) for providing excellent clinical training for dental and orthodontic staff using multimedia animations, close-up video, online testing, clinical performance checklists, and other digital technology for delivery of training via the Internet. ITI Training modules are being used worldwide to teach dental professionals to perform clinical procedures with the highest standard of performance. The module, "Basic Oral Hygiene" was a winner in the American Dental Educators Association Technology Competition in 2002.
Dr. Poling is married and has four children ranging in age from 20 to 27.


In charge of the corporation’s strategic technology direction, network operations, information technology systems and processes. Walter holds degrees in Marketing and IT from the University of Applied Sciences in St. Gallen, Switzerland. His experience spawns many industries, healthcare, financial, manufacturing and others.
He has worked for large international companies as well as for startups. Over his career Walter has been responsible for the launch of many large IT projects and his experience covers web services, data mining, geographical information systems as well as artificial intelligence solutions.
Renee Romsland
Executive Administrator
Renee handles the day to day operations at ITI. Hers is the voice that is most likely on the other end of the phone when a client calls for customer support. Renee's work background is quite varied including 18+ years of retail sales and management experience in areas ranging anywhere from large warehouse stores to smaller outdoor/climbing shops and feed and farm stores. She has also worked on a busy ambulance in downtown Seattle and trained horses and aspiring young riders. Currently, she is nearing completion of her Bachelor of Science in both Geology and Natural Science.
