Hands-on Training
Hands-on Training is available for within the office, within a Dental Assisting School Program, or within a University Orthodontic Residency Program. Hands-on training is currently offered at New York University Department Of Orthodontics to incoming orthodontic residents and international dentists. All Users study and pass selected online courses prior to Hands-on Training
Users obtain ITICourses Online Accounts 3 months before Hands-on training
Required courses are specified in the Knowledge Profile
Students study Knowledge Profile courses and pass all post-tests earning CE Certificates before Hands-on training. Dr. Rebecca Poling and other faculty are "Supervisors" of User accounts and monitor learning

Hands-on Experiences
Complete a New Patient Exam on partner and give partner summary of need for treatment
Produce perfect photographs on partner
Produce perfect impressions on partner
Pour and trim study models to ABO standards of partner
Examine, work-up records, and Diagnosis and Treatment Plan Sample Patient
Prepare all materials for a Treatment Consultation with the Sample Patient
Provide oral hygiene instructions to partner
Place and remove separators on a mounted dentoform
Fit first molar bands on a mounted dentoform for an appliance, take an impression, place and secure bands in the impression, pour the appliance model
Mark crowded models for bracket placement, glue brackets on models in position, insert and tie in .014 NiTi wire, debond brackets, clean up model, clean glue from brackets
"Bond" brackets to mounted dentoform following sequence of steps taught in online courses using bonding materials and "toothpaste" etchant
Demonstrate assembly, placement, removal, disassembly, and preparation for sterilization of the Great Lakes Dry Field System on partner
"Bond" brackets 7-7 on partner following all steps taught in online courses using "toothpaste" etchant
